Sean Penn is, to use the correct Hollywood vernacular, "doing a Neeson". And that's a good thing.
Rather than settling for slow, complex dramas or HBO period pieces that come so naturally to post-50 actors, the Oscar-winner is keeping his eye in with his first foray into all-out action. The Gunman sees Penn star as a former military operative dragged into a deadly game of cat and mouse, and with direction coming from one Pierre Morel (Taken, The Transporter), it promises to be the action romp 2015 has been missing.
You can find out more about Penn's work on The Gunman, and his scathing view of modern actors, in our recent interview with him. For now, settle back to enjoy this exclusive clip.
The Gunman is at cinemas nationwide from 20 March

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
