It's easy to tell if someone's played 2011's Dark Souls. At the very mention of its name their jaw clenches, their knuckles whiten and a steely determination enters their eye. Basically, they turn into a right weirdo.
The hugely popular dungeon raider was infuriatingly hard, taking delight in killing you no matter how well you thought you'd been playing. The magic of Dark Souls was that, despite being hard-as-nails, you always readied yourself for "one last go".
The latest trailer for its successor, Dark Souls II, is teaming with grizzly challenges: spider-infested dragons, undead giants and something made out of rocks that doesn't have a face. We have no idea how we're supposed to kill them - and we can't wait to fail at trying.
Dark Souls II arrives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 14 March (PC tba)
