Nostalgia fans, control yourselves: the legendary DuckTales is heading back to your screens.
Disney XD has announced that it has ordered a new animated comedy series based on the 80s cartoon. The original ran from 1987 to 1990, with 100 episodes made over four seasons.
Money-loving Scrooge McDuck will again star alongside his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie. They'll be joined by other returning characters Donald Duck, Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley and Webbigail Vanderquack.
Dinsye XD's Marc Buhaj stated that “DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history... it drew its inspiration from Disney legend Carl Barks’ comic books and, through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults... our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”
It's scheduled to begin broadcasting in 2017, so they'd better getting quacking if they want to get them made in time. In the meantime, take a trip down memory lane by watching the intro theme below - in both original and 'real duck' versions - together with a classic Family Guy homage.
