

While there were many great things about the original Pac-Man arcade game, the plot was definitely not one of them.

Hoping to further elaborate on this, Disney have announced a 3D TV show called Pac-Man — The Adventure Begins, which we're hoping acts as an origins tale so we can finally discover what on earth caused his eating disorder. It will be exec-produced by Avi Arad (The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man), who has a tendency to slightly exaggerate the power of Pac-Man...
"Pac-Man is one of the world's greatest icons", he said in a statement. "He is funny and adventurous and will bring his tone and abilities to this beautifully executed animated series."
It will air on Disney XD in the US next year. It's actually not the first time that Pac-Man has reached the small screen, as Pac-Man: The Animated Series aired in 1982. Here's a brief refresher:
