Look, we know Brexit has sent everyone a little loopy recently - whichever side of the argument you’re on, there’s no doubt that the sight of MPs dumping dead fish into the Thames cannot be described as something indicative of healthy state of a nation - but, honestly, what the hell is going on out there?

Earlier this week, a man was pulled over in Milton Keynes and proceeded to produce a licence belonging to Homer Simpson - complete with photo.

And now, a driver pulled over in Terrington, near King’s Lynn, having been stopped by police, decided to give them a licence belonging to Derek Trotter, aka Del Boy, the star of long-running comedy series Only Fools and Horses.

Police found that the driver had no insurance and, what’s more, given that he was driving a Renault Megane, the ‘licence’ stated that ‘Del’ was only qualified to drive a three-wheeler.

Police reported the driver to court and seized the car, which was travelling on the A47, on Wednesday.

Of course, the eagle-eyed amongst you will also notice that the ‘three wheeler clause’ was not the only error this plonker made - Peckham, of course, is not in Tower Hamlets - it’s in the London Borough of Southwark.

Still, it did enable us to find almost the perfect picture for this article in the Rex Picture Library, taken when Only Fools and Horses impersonator Richard Foster was pulled over by police for having a blow up doll in his van, in West Sussex back in 2013.

Hmmm, forget Brexit, maybe we’ve always been a bit weird.
