In a summer cluttered with trainer re-releases, special editions of old classics and new colourways on aged models, we're glad to see New Balance has mixed things up with an entirely new entry - and it's been worth the wait.
This slender sneaker is the 1320, a refreshingly modern minimalist departure from the US label's usual catalogue of retro models. Not altogether dissimilar from the Nike Roshe Run, the 1320 features a suede heel and 'saddle' (the laced upper midsection) on a breathable mesh upper. 3M reflective highlights peek through the tongue and toe mesh, breaking up the uniform colours of the shoe.
Currently available in black, red or (our preferred) blue, you can expect more colour options within the year. Already launched in the US, you'll need to keep an eye on the New Balance website for news of the UK release.
