It might be time to inform Hurley from Lost the news that he’s no longer the world’s hairiest TV star.
That mantle now firmly belongs to Chewbacca, front and centre for this shot-for-short spoof recreation of the intro from FX’s show Louie, which even changes up that funky theme tune, remixing Errol Brown and Tony Wilson’s seventies jam Brother Louie to incorporate “Chewy”. It’s excellent.
Playing out like a cutaway Family Guy gag made real, we doff our caps to its editors from Nerdist for their work on this.
As Louis C.K. does in the real show, it begins with our hirsute hero traipsing out of the New York subway (Millennium Falcon must be in the repair shop) before wandering off to play a comedy club where he kills it. It seems New Yorkers clearly have a better grasp of Shyriiwook than we do.
Still, there are always subtitles and if the – ahem - pilot isn’t picked up, Chewy can always audition for a Harry and the Hendersons reboot.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
