He's strong to the finich cause he eats his spinach - and now at the grand age of 85 he's the subject of a marvellous tribute art exhibition.
After four years of drawing, painting and etching, Hero Complex Gallery has lifted the veil on its latest show Strong To The Finich! - an official Popeye tribute art show. Curated by illustrator CHOGRIN, over 100 artists from around the world have created their own unique takes on the legendary sailor, created by E.C. Segar in 1929.
Opening on 5 September in the gallery's Los Angeles-based studio, if you can't make the trip we've got a small preview of some of the work that will be on sale. Keep an eye on the Hero Complex website to see which pieces will be on sale in the following weeks.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
