Looking to host the greatest summer party [insert your home town name] has ever seen? Thanks to booking agency Degy Entertainment, you can now see which acts your budget can stretch to.
Specialising in US college shows (think the Snoop Dogg appearance in Old School), an anonymous source from the third-party booking group has slipped Priceonomics a list of suggested agents rates (per show, without additional expenses).
Eight acts booked through Degy command a $1 million plus fee: Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, James Taylor and Dave Matthews. The speculative nature of the list is given away by a couple of key acts: As the second highest-grossing act of 2013, Lady Gaga appears a bargain at $750,000 a show, as do One Direction at $150-200k+.
Far from comprehensive, the following list provides an interesting insight into the costs of booking some of the biggest names in the music world. Looks like we'll be sticking with plugging in an iPod for the ShortList barbecue.
