Assassin's Creed Unity Returns With Dead Kings Trailer

Revolutions are a messy business. Mobs rise, heads roll - both figuratively and literally - and then comes the tricky task of cleaning up. Thankfully, Dead Kings - the new expansion for Assassin's Creed: Unity - looks a lot more engaging than running about with a mop and bucket.

Between the spirited combat and stunning streets, Unity was a great game. When it worked. When it didn't, it was a bewildering mess of broken character models and oddly-behaving crowds - but Dead Kings is looking to build on the better moments of the next-gen stealther.

Arno returns (with his clothes on, for once) to explore the city of Saint-Denis - an ancient necropolis, riddeled with an intricate network of catacombs and deep caves that hide the best-kept secrets of the French kings. If this new cinematic teaser is anything to go by, you can expect the action of Dead Kings to be deep, dark and hazardous.

Dead Kings is available for download on 13 January on PC and Xbox One and 14 January on PlayStation 4
