Anonymous have already started their attack on ISIS

Only four days after the hacker collective announced their plans to a wage war on ISIS, Anonymous have already suspended 900 ISIS-related Twitter accounts, and posted a list of them online.

ISIS members who are active on Twitter and are suspended by Anonymous will be forced to recreate another twitter account (likely to be tracked by the ‘Hacktivists) , speaking to a severely diminished audience.

While the actions won’t bring a complete end to the extremists’ social media presence it’s hoped that it will cause disruptions among the terror groups and make it harder for them both spread their controversial views and enlist further members to the group.

In an earlier announcement on 13 November, Anonymous called out ISIS in a video posted to YouTube. They said:

“Anonymous from all over the world will hunt you down.”

“You should know that we will find you and we will not let you go. We will launch the biggest operation ever against you.”

“Expect massive cyber attacks. War is declared. Get prepared.”

“The French people are stronger than you and will come out of this atrocity even stronger.”
