Everyone knows and loves* the famous 'March of Progress' scientific illustration, showing man's evolution from primate through to Homo Sapiens.
And now mysterious Parisian art collective Maentis have taken inspiration from it to embark on an ambitious project to create a series of 99 parodies - one released each day.
The range of topics is all-encompassing, but the quality remains high throughout - remarkably this is their first project together. We've picked a selection of 20 of our favourites, but you can see the full range (which will be complete on December 15th), entitled '99 Steps of Progress', at Maentis' website.
They are available to buy as prints and t-shirts from RedBubble, but get in quick - there are, naturally, only 99 of each item being made.
