We've written a lot about alternative movie poster art here at Shortlist.com. Which doesn't mean that we're ungrateful for the posters we get fed from Hollywood, but simply that we like it when fans take the initiative to reinvent something they love.
Inspired by passion for Vladimir Nabokov's classic novel, these alternative covers for Lolita help to showcase the complexity of the titular character and reinforce the fact that literature fans are just as creative as their cinematic counterparts.
Architect and blogger John Bertram launched a contest for designers to offer up their Lolita cover versions. The contest was such a success that it's now being turned into an as yet untitled book, out this summer.
You can find out more information here, while the designers are credited at the bottom of the piece.
