When we buy a pair of boxfresh white trainers, our number one fear is inadvertently treading in a muddy puddle. We have been known to cry if this happens within a week.
But fortunately/unfortunately, that's not something that need concern us with this pair of pre-muddied trainers. The fruit of a collaboration between designer Kazuki Kuraishi, conceptual artist Ryan Gander and Adidas Originals, the snappily-titled Adidas x KZK ZXZ 750 RG 84-Lab is a perfectly snow white trainer, with the addition of synthetic 'mud' to the sole and base of the shoe.
The idea is to portray a theme of performance sportswear with a contemporary streetwear edge; are these edgy, or do they just make you want to give them a clean?
They're available now for £129 from End Clothing; you'd be mud - sorry, mad - to miss out.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
