On the off chance that you’ve just woken up after an eight-year snooze, 2012 (that being the year we’re in, if your nearest and dearest had neglected to tell you) is Olympics year. London’s Olympic year. We’re hosting the Olympics!
Anyway, that means lots and lots and lots and lots of Olympics-related stories and merchandise tie-ins. Everyone gots to be making cash money and all that.
But, hold thy cynicism for an instant. This one’s a goodie. Adidas, or more specifically, adidas Originals, has launched a well smart archive collection inspired by the kit British athletes like Daley Thompson (pictured below), Seb Coe, Steve Cram and, erm, Fatima Whitbread, sported at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
It’s all very simple and stylish, and the iconic original adidas logo adorns the collection of tops, tracksuits and windbreakers. In fact it’s very Britpop.
Wahey, we’re gonna live forever. Or not, but at least you’ll look cool and sporty.
The collection is available from February and for more information check out www.adidas.co.uk.
