Sister Sledge sang that 'We Are Family' back in 1979 and it turns out that they were closer to the truth than they realised.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the annual Silver Clef Awards, which this year takes place on 3 July, artist Rob O'Connor has put together this fantastic family tree that links together every one of the previous 40 winners of the main award, including the likes of Muse, Kylie, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Morrissey, Jimmy Page and many more.
The awards were founded back in 1976 by musicians and managers from across the British music industry in order to honour musical artists, while also raising funs for the Nordoff Robbins Centre for Music Therapy. Since then, 163 awards have been given out; this year, Duran Duran will receive the Spotify Lifetime Achievement Award, with Kasabian winning Royal Albert Hall Best Band Award. The big one will go to metal legends Iron Maiden, who picked up the O2 Silver Clef Award in honour of their long and successful career.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
