The best EA FC 25 players: The 90+ overall rated players you need in your squad
Who makes the top tier in this year’s not-FIFA EA FC 25 release?
The beautiful game is back — and we’ve got the best players cherry picked to bring your squad to on-the-pitch glory. We’ve pulled together every player in this year’s EA Sports FC 25 release that’s got an overall rating of 90 or above, helping you build the squad of your dreams in any of the game’s many play modes.
The not-called-FIFA-anymore footy game from the same team that used to make FIFA releases today on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles, as well as PCs and is being called ‘peak football sim’ by some reviewers.
But before you sit down for your first match against mates or online rivals this weekend, scan through our best players list — we’ll give you the rankings, as well as the key perks and playstyles to make sure you’re getting the best from your starting 11.
1. Kylian Mbappé (Rating: 91)
Was there ever any doubt who would top the tables this year? Arguably the greatest player of his generation, the French Real Madrid striker wasn’t able to claim Euro 24 glory this summer, but eventually found his flow after breaking his nose in the opening group game. His acceleration and sprint speed give him the Quick Step+ perk, making him the most agile and responsive striker in the game, and this year’s overall best player.
2. Rodri (Rating: 91)
The 28 year old defensive midfielder Rodri narrowly may have got that Euro 24 title under his belt, but narrowly loses the top spot in EA FC 25 to Mbappé. The Spanish star is one of the best passers in the game, earning him the Tiki Taka+ playstyle that will see him controlling the middle of the field — while strong defensive skills see him handy under pressure at the back, too.
3. Aitana Bonmatí (Rating: 91)
The highest-rated player from the women’s game in EA FC 25, the phenomenal Aitana Bonmatí hails from Spain and plays her football at Barcelona. The central midfielder is great at running against opponents thanks to the Technical+ playstyle perk, and has excellent stamina levels making her a key player from first to final whistle. Better with the ball at her feet than on her head, get her taking corners rather than receiving them.
4. Erling Haaland (Rating: 91)
Norway’s AI clubbing superstar, the Man City striker is a beast in the air, whether with his powerful header or Acrobatic+ volleys perk. He’s also got strength too, letting him brush off aggression from defenders. Just make sure he doesn’t end up low down the pitch — he’s much better facing goal than with his back to it, and doesn’t have quite the all-round game that some other players this high on the list manage.
5. Jude Bellingham (Rating: 90)
The first step down from the 91-rated players is Jude Bellingham. But don’t let that put you off — his all-round stats make for much more rounded player than, say, Haaland. This year’s EA FC 25 cover star, the 21 year old Real Madrid player has excellent stamina and superb positional awareness, making him great at interceptions high up the pitch for snappy counter attacks. Given his scorching Euros bicycle kick as proof we’d have given him a higher volley score than 77 his been awarded this year, but Bellingham will be a play-making core for any Ultimate team.
6. Alexia Putellas (Rating: 90)
Spain and Barcelona central midfielder Alexia Putella’s is explosive in possession — get the ball to her feet and the First Touch+ playstyle perk gives her an incredible boost in speed that will see her lose her marker with ease. Putellas has a decent shot on her too, so if you’re able to get that snap of speed on the edge of the box away from defence, take your chances with a pot-shot.
7. Vini Jr. (Rating: 90)
Vini Jr’s Quick Step+ playstyle perk makes him really dangerous on his favoured left wing, letting him make darting runs down the flank that will have defenders in a panic. The Real Madrid player’s passing and great first touch make him a good player maker on the left hand side, though make sure to make use of his lightning speed — he’s light on his feet and can be easily jostled by burlier defenders, who will beat him in any close-quarters tussle.
8. Caroline Graham Hansen (Rating: 90)
If you’re looking to do some showboating and close-to-feet trick moves, Caroline Graham Hansen of Barcelona is up there with the best of them. Her Trickster+ playstyle perk lets her run rings around defenders with unique skill moves, and can easily dodge and sidestep oncoming defenders at speed. Make sure you don’t get too carried away and out of position though, as the right winger’s defensive stats aren’t great.
9. Kevin De Bruyne (Rating: 90)
The 33 year old Belgian may be losing out in pace at this stage of his career, but the Manchester City midfielder remains untouchable when it comes to controlling play from the middle of the pitch. His Incisive Pass+ perk makes him one of the best passing players in the game, and should be your go-to set piece taker.
10. Sam Keer (Rating: 90)
Australia’s Sam Kerr is a dominating presence up front for Chelsea, and that carries over into her EA FC 25 ratings. Australia’s all-time top goal scorer, the Finesse Shot+ playstyle perk gives her strikes power, accuracy and an in-flight curve that’s a nightmare for goalies to handle. She’s got pace too, though her passing game isn’t the strongest. Get the ball to her anywhere near the box though, whether in the air or on the ground, and she’s a dangerous force.
11. Harry Kane (Rating: 90)
Rounding out the last of the 90+ rated players is England veteran Harry Kane. Like De Bruyne, the 31 year old is no longer the fastest in the game. But when it comes to striking, he’s got sniper-like precision. Kane’s Finesse Shot+ perk, strong heading skills and excellent first touch make him a goal scoring machine if you can get him between defenders and the goal line. He’ll nick one from anywhere, and remains a goal-hogging star.
