The music world lost yet another icon on Thursday with the sad news that Linkin Park’s powerhouse singer Chester Bennington had taken his own life at the age of just 41.
The tragic event occurred on what would have been the 53rd birthday of Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, a great friend of Bonnington, and a man who died in similar circumstances earlier this year.
And in a similar way, the whole of the music world – from fellow rock bands to pop artists, and even the likes of Stormzy, who collaborated with the band on their most recent album One More Light – have come together to pay tribute to a gentle soul with an incredibly powerful voice, taking to Twitter and Instagram to share their memories and express their condolences.
And, of course, it wasn’t just musicians loved the work of Bennington...
