These two maps show why you need to move to Germany right now

In news that will shock absolutely nobody, London is hella expensive to live in and the prices are only going to skyrocket further.

But what might surprise you more than our capital's house prices is quite how much more expensive London is than other major European cities.

Take Berlin for example, the metropolitan capital of Germany. Check out the below two maps to see the differences.

Created by German real estate experts Immobilienscout, and doubtlessly inspired by the Thrillist's own London map, the prices might not look that cheap at first glance but let's put things in perspective.

In West Berlin, the fairly upmarket area of Charlottenburg has an average monthly rental price of €637, which works out at around £482. The London equivalent, somewhere like Gloucester Road has similar properties that cost an average of £1,960.

Basically, London is worse for your bank account than a high profile divorce.
