Anonymous has declared 'cyber war' on ISIS
16 November 2015

Following the wake of the tragic Paris Attacks that claimed the lives of almost 130 people, the hacker group Anonymous has warned terrorists to ‘expect’ them.

The announcement comes in the form of a YouTube video delivered in typical fashion, behind a Guy Fawkes mask.

Speaking in French, the masked individual said: “Anonymous from all over the world will hunt you down.”

“You should know that we will find you and we will not let you go. We will launch the biggest operation ever against you.”

“Expect massive cyber attacks. War is declared. Get prepared.”

“The French people are stronger than you and will come out of this atrocity even stronger.”

The hacker collective also took to Twitter saying:

“We are upping our game, you will now be hit by major cyber attacks, I will be speaking to the most prominent #OpiceISIS teams and supporters such as @TheBinarySec. @OspiceISIS and we will work together to take down all ISIS cyber communications and your accounts. Haha, good luck with keeping them.”

This isn’t the first time that Anonymous has announced that they will be targeting ISIS. Following the Charlie Hebdo attack in January the group announced a similar cyber attack on extremists.

Often reffered to as ‘hacktivists’ the group have previously run online operations to publish Twitter accounts that they claim are being used to spread ISIS propaganda.
