Alonso & Button Spoof Back To The Future

Never mind Formula 1, we all know that the greatest racing car ever invented was the DeLorean - after all, that could travel faster than time, and all you had to do was get it to 88mph.

And, inspired by that marvellous machine, McLaren have celebrated their official season launch with this trailer, featured their new lineup of Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso.

They pay tribute to Marty McFly and Doc Brown by boarding a time-travelling McLaren 650S to find out who wins on March 15th, the opening day of the season, which will take place at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

McLaren are teaming up with Honda's engines for the first time in 22 years; in the clip, Button suggests popping back to 1988, where that constructors partnership won 15 out of the 16 races that season. In that sense, they'll be desperately hoping for some real-life Back To The Future action in the coming season.
