Wembley Arch To Light Up In Team Colours

arch.jpg

Clive Tyldsley’s inevitable Partridgisms aside, the English football cup final will never quite be the same again.

Or at least they are where Wembley stadium is concerned - specifically the futuristic arch, which now boasts the fastest interactive LED lighting system in the world, meaning that from early 2015, the arch will act as the digital heartbeat for many a sporting drama.

Housed across 228 large-scale LED floodlights, all capable of creating millions of colour combinations to respond to a goal or champagne-soaked trophy presentation, the possibilities for shoving it in the face of rival fans is endless.

The same interactive technology will also be used for musical concerts and other sporting events with the aim of this connectivity to open new doors for landmarks as we know them.

Witchcraft? More the ingenious work of those tech wizards at EE, who’ve cited it as just one of the recent technological rollouts they’ve brought to Wembley Stadium to cement the landmark as one of the most well-connected in the world.

Check the video of last night’s official switch on (below) to get a taste of what’s to come…
