Manchester United youngster pulls off brilliant rainbow flick golazo

Red.jpg

Of the few silver linings Manchester United fans can take from another faltering season is the emergence of young blood in the first team.

Brave, measured and considerably less elbow-happy than Marouane Fellaini, from the shrewdly-recruited Frenchman Anthony Martial, to home-grown talent such as Jesse Lingard and the ever-impressive Marcus Rashford, these young guns have, more often than not, come up with the goods when seasoned stars have been found failing.

And on the basis of this exciting footage from an academy game, Louis Van Gaal might just have another diamond on his hands.

Coming during a content against the famous barcodes Newcastle United, 16-year-old central midfielder Aidan Barlow (no relation to Ken) just performed a rainbow flick - otherwise known as flicking the ball up from behind your back and over your head while running at speed, and a move more regularly witnessed in the realm of FIFA gaming than real life - to tee himself up for a golazo of the highest order.

A seriously sweet finish on the half-volley, it's a finish worthy of the previous skill.

Could we be filing into cinemas to watch a documentary called The Class of '18 in the near future? Watch this space.
