Goal of the year nominees


We scored a worldy once. Running across the box away from goal, watching the ball drop over our shoulder while holding off a 100 kg centre back, we shifted our weight to turn on our weaker foot, striking every millimetre of the ball's sweet spot. It snapped through the air into the far top corner and the world exploded in ecstasy.

The fact that this goal was scored in our living room via the medium of PES does nothing to diminish the quality of the strike.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to get the footage to Fifa in time for their Puskás Award 2013. In its fifth year, the award looks to bestow the grand title of "best goal of the year" on one perfect moment of football and render all pub debates obsolete. Ten goals have been selected by Fifa and selected Football Committee members, the winner to be decided by a public vote.
