When’s the last time you shelled out big money for a really good steak? Blowing the budget on that manliest slabs of meat for a few delectable minutes soon followed by indigestion and buyer’s remorse?

Well you needn’t worry about traipsing to high-end eateries, nor parting with large sums of money for the pleasure of eating the planet’s finest steak, for discount supermarket Aldi is marking Father’s Day by selling it for the tidy sum of £7.29/80z.

Widely considered the best steak of all, premium Wagyu comes from cattle that are both bred and 100 per cent grass-fed on New Zealand meadowlands, giving the meat its distinct flavour and texture.

A rare treat even for the best restaurants, where it’s not unknown to pay up to £90 for one, rarer still surrounded by Polish fruit juice and own-brand cornflakes at the cost of a few quid.

On sale from today, we’ve a feeling non Aldi shoppers might just be changing where they do their big shop.
