Vizio brings its Dolby Atmos soundbar to the UK

A sound investment

Vizio brings its Dolby Atmos soundbar to the UK
28 June 2019

Vizio has made quite a splash in the USA with its (relatively) inexpensive Dolby Atmos-touting soundbars, and now it’s ready to make similar inroads in the UK with the SB362A.

The £600 (I did say “relatively”) 36-inch soundbar is designed to deliver cinema-style sound for every angle. The five-channel soundbar is supported wirelessly by a subwoofer, which then connects to two Dolby Atmos-enabled rear speakers, meaning you don’t need to trail a cable from the TV to the back of the room. The soundbar itself has two up-firing speakers built in.

Even the remote has a neat little LCD display with Google Assistant included for voice controls. And you can stream music with the soundbar’s built-in Chromecast.

In other words, it’s a competitive package for £600, with Atmos systems once costing over a grand. Even today, finding something with upfiring speakers and rear channels for this price is something of a rarity. It’s available to buy right now.

“This next iteration of audio solutions, the first to become available in the UK, further reinforces Vizio’s dedication to delivering high-performing, intuitive products at the incredible value for which we’re known,” said Vizio’s CTO Bill Baxter. “From versatile soundbars designed to improve audio quality in smaller rooms, to premium models featuring Dolby Atmos that are designed to deliver immersive, multi-dimensional sound at a great value, we’re providing consumers with even more audio options to complement a variety of home entertainment spaces and budgets.”

Of course £600 is still quite an investment that won’t fit every budget. Be sure to consult our list of the best soundbars to find the right solution for you.
