You’ve got to give it to James Corden – he’s absolutely smashing it over the States in The Late Late Show.
It seems like only yesterday he was singing Do They Know It’s Christmas down the phone in quaint British comedy Gavin & Stacey, and now he’s acting out the whole “You can’t handle the truth” schtik with the greatest movie star on the planet, Tom Cruise.
Yes, the Cruiser is the latest guest to take part in Corden’s “Roll Call”, in which A-listers act an entire career in matter of minutes in front of a blue screen.
Former guests include Arnie, Tom Hanks, and Matt Damon. But true to form, Cruise might be the best yet, re-doing classic scenes from Top Gun and Rain Man to Tropic Thunder and Jack Reacher.
Particularly amusing are the switches between stunts from Mission: Impossible 1-5 (not to mention a reminder of how bonkers Tom’s walk around the top of the Burj Khalifa was), plus a nice surprise when they get to Jerry Maguire.
