This is how much of your life you spend hungover

It's worryingly longer than you think

This is how much of your life you spend hungover
16 December 2016

Feel like most of your life is spent cuddling the toilet bowl in a hungover stupor? Well a new study shows roughly how much of your life is spent with a hangover...and you’re not going to like it.

Healthspan Ruby Effervescent Vitamin C carried out a survey on 2000 participants, trying to understand their alcohol drinking habits, which showed that most adults over the age of 18 wake up with a stinking hangover at least once a month.

They then worked this into the average lifespan of a human and the end result was that we spend 724 days of our life feeling like our head is about to implode.

Two years, to be precise.

Now I bet you are feeling one of two things. 1) Shame that so much time is wasted. 2) A fear that you wake up with more than one terrible hangover a month. Being a ShortList reader, you’re probably the latter (which is a compliment, because drinking’s cool).

Want some of your precious time back where you don’t feel like death warmed up? Then a nutritionist has came up with a scientific equation to help you beat it, which involves avocados and sweet potato fries rather than making yourself sick before you go to bed.
