Who? The Night Café
What’s the story? Sometimes, in this world of ultra-high end production, limitless sounds and overprocessed vocals, all you really need is four mates on drums, bass, guitar and vocals singing about how good it is to be friends with someone. Together is an absolute sugar rush of a track from Liverpool quartet The Night Café; three minutes of chiming Johnny Marr-style guitars, classic indie rhythms and scouse vocals. It could have been made in 1987, yet somehow it's extremely refreshing to hear a track like this. Press play below and fast forward summer by a few weeks.
For fans of: The Smiths, The Cure, The Kooks
In three words: Melodic indie excellence
