Who? Jamie T
What’s the story? After emerging at the end of the mid-noughties indie landfill era, South Londoner Jamie T made an unexpectedly successful comeback with 2014's Carry On The Grudge, which was both critically and commercially successful. Now he's back with the first taste of his as-yet-untitled fourth album in the form of the dark, claustrophic Tinfoil Boy, which opens up with an unsettling sample and a delicate verse before exploding into an Underworld-esque chorus. A mashup of indie, electronica, punk and dance, it would have fitted perfectly onto either one of the first two UNKLE albums - we wouldn't be surprised if James Lavelle is on the phone to him very soon.
For fans of: UNKLE, Underworld
In three words: Dark, dense thriller
