The Nike KD7 Uprising

If you’ve never heard of the Oklahoma City Thunder (they sound made-up to be fair, you probably won’t be familiar with Kevin Durant.

They’re an NBA team, and he, winner of an NBA Most Valuable Player Award, Olympic gold medal and NBA Rookie of the Year award, is their star player. Much more importantly, he’s the man behind Nike KD7.

The sneaker sub-brand has been seen by experts as an edgier alternative to Jordans, those stalwarts of other basketball player endorsed footwear, and this latest effort is no exception.

Channelling a weather phenomenon known as ‘sprite lightening’ (sounds like a drink to us but there you go), a flurry of big-hitting tropical colours make up the Uprising, its signature strap decorated with a tinge of bright green.

Then, naturally, there’s the pro athletic touch, as Nike’s visible Zoom Air Technology bolsters them with the latest in shock absorbance, making them perfect for on the court as well as off it.

You’ll be able to order the vivid kicks from 16 October over at Nike’s online store.

Your move Jordan.
