How's the Christmas bulge coming along? Starting to feel a little rounder about the middle? As everyone begins the slow (who are we kidding, rapid) descent into their rotund winter shape, Nike is slimming things down.
This svelte sneaker is the Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire - though we'd have called it the Air Max 1 Ultra Leiss. The classic trainer has shifted its bulk thanks to a super light weight perforated upper, constructed out of a single span of AM1 material to eliminate the need for panelling and stitching.
The white and 'challenge red' colourway of the new shoe attempts to break up the shoe with an implied panel construction, sitting astride a while Air sole unit. We're expecting them to be the sort of "lightweight" that sees you walking out of the house and fearing you forgot to put your shoes on.
Arriving on 8 January, these could be the first step toward the inevitable weight shedding in early 2015.
