The Premier League made a welcome return to our screens over the weekend - we'd imagine a good few of you spent the last 48 hours indulging in the round-the-clock viewing marathon that was served up after the summer famine.
The stand-out performance of the weekend was undoubtedly young Ross Barkley for Everton. Just 19 years old and born in Liverpool, his first Premier League goal came this weekend, alongside a man-of-the-match performance, in a 2-2 draw at Norwich - and what a beauty it was. It followed a goal for the England Under-21s in midweek against Scotland in a 6-0 win.
Early games often throw up new stars - remember David Beckham's opening day strike against Wimbledon, and Rooney against Arsenal; as Wayne appears disinterested and unhappy at Manchester United, have we found his replacement? (No pressure Ross)
