The greatest Twitter reactions to Team GB's Super Sunday heroics

The good news: you didn't dream it. The bad news: you may fall asleep at your desk today.

If your eyelids are weighing heavier than barbells right now, you’re obviously still high from a sleepless night of British sporting success over at Rio 2016, arguably eclipsing the Super Sunday of four years ago.

Gymnast Max Whitlock made history by winning gold on the floor, swiftly followed by another gold on the pommel horse, with team-mate Louis Smith scooping silver. Nick Dempsey bagged silver in windsurfing. Justin Rose putted for gold in the golf, becoming the first man in 112 years to do so. We then faced an embarrassment of riches when Jason Kenny pipped Callum Smith to gold in an ALL-BRITISH cycling sprint, and then, capping it all off, Mr flag bearer himself, (Sir?) Andrew Murray went and beat the resurgent Juan Martin del Potro in front of a boisterous crowd and became the first ever tennis player to retain an Olympic singles title.

Ridiculous, right? Well in a bid to put it all in perspective, and to highlight how spoiled we are for Olympic talent in this country, here’s a roundup of the best reactions on Twitter.
