High tops and high fashion. Running shoes and runways. Athletic trainers and athletic models. Can you see where we're going with this yet?
Puma has renewed its collaboration with the iconic British fashion label Alexander McQueen for an autumnal collection of chunky, layered trainers.
Combining the sporting genes of Puma with the bold visions of McQueen's creative director Sarah Burton, the collection sits closer to the urban end of the spectrum than 'sports ready'. The bulk of the series draws on gothic blacks and ivories, with leather rib-cages and plastic supports adding new structure to the likes of the Run Mid, Run Lo, Rush Mid and Rush Lo.
Set for release on 1 August, we've picked out our favourites from the collection below.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
