Savile Row tailoring comes to the high street

Party season sorted
21 October 2012

Here’s some slightly unsettling news for you: there are just nine weeks left until Christmas. This qualifies as ‘unsettling news’ for a variety of reasons – the impending onslaught of festive adverts on television, the fact that Now That’s What I Call Christmas! will soon be on constant rotation in every shop – but the most worrying is what this news means for your wardrobe. Party season is suddenly upon us, and the usual ‘smart casual’ will no longer be acceptable attire.

Thankfully, Marks & Spencer has stepped in to solve your sartorial woes. The high street favourite has teamed up with esteemed British tailor Richard James to create a Savile Row Inspired tuxedo.

The tux (pictured) boasts a jacket and trousers crafted from premium British wool (£349), a 100 per cent cotton dress shirt with mother of pearl buttons (£49.50) with additional accessories such as a bow tie (£29.50), dress shoes (£59) and pocket square (£9.50).

All of which means you can pull off the ‘Savile Row’ look for a snip of the usual Savile Row price. We won’t tell if you don’t…
