Original actors vs remake actors

Whenever another remake gets announced, the majority of film fans, or people what can type, find themselves in a state of uncontrollable fury. "It'll never be as good as the original", "Why doesn't Hollywood get some new ideas?" and "How dare they remake that film I didn't really like anyway?" can all be heard ad nauseum.

But we're a bit obsessed with them, even when they're truly awful (not naming names but Wicker Man). We've previously compared the posters of the old and the new but now, we're comparing the actors chosen to play each role. Some are rather similar while some are rather not. Discuss.

Content Director

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
