The buzz of the carnival. The frenzy of colours and music. The elation of the Rio stadium, cheering on a seleção. All things we're going to have to watch from a sweaty pub in the early hours of a Saturday morning - but at least our shoes will look the part.
To celebrate the summer's antics, Onitsuka Tiger have joined the samba bandwagon with a release of Brazil-inspired colourways.
For its Rio makeover, the new HULSE suede court shoe (£60) combines the colours of the Brazilian flag. We're big fans of its football boot-styled folded tongue, though best not damage the leather with a game of 5-a-side.
The Vickka Moscow (£65) - created for the Japanese Olympic team that eventually boycotted the Moscow Olympic Games 1980 - opts for the familiar Brazilian jersey colours of green and gold.
Finally, the Mexico 66 (£65) - the low-profile trainer that gained legendary status thanks to a certain Bruce Lee - arrives Rio-ready in two variations of the green, gold and blue.
Here's hoping the football is worthy of these gems. Head over to the Onitsuka Tiger site to find your nearest store.
