Despite what their name suggests, prospective wearers of Nike's Fingertrap Max needn't fear that these are the last trainers they'll ever slide onto their feet. Still, if they did ensnare your foot like their namesake, these wouldn't be a bad shoe to be trapped in for life.
The Fingertrap Max does borrow some logic from the classic Chinese toy: move your foot to the side and the soft, pliant bands will tighten in response to the movement, supporting your step. The loosely woven construction also allows the trainer to breath, while a mesh inner sleeve hugs your foot like a sock.
Previously available in a functional-yet-deeply ugly performance fabric (they looked suspiciously plastic), this new PRM Pack updates the shoe with premium leather materials. Available in black or white, both versions sit on an Air Max, Free sole hybrid, ensuring this'll be the most comfortable trap you ever experience. You can pick up a pair for £140.25 from Titolo.
