We wonder what Nike SB would have created for a Western New Year edition of their Dunk High Premium trainers. Grubby vomit-coloured high tops smelling of fireworks and drunken regrets probably wouldn't have sold that well.
The themes of Chinese New Year were appparently far more agreeable. Drawing on the red packets distributed for luck (which comes in the form of cold hard cash) on New Year, the Nike SB Dunk High models feature bold red colouring - again, for luck and prosperity - with golden stitching and outline detail. A gold Chinese medallion and accompanying red packet make for pleasing extras.
Anyone craving these special editions should be prepared to pay for extra shipping - they'll be on sale from 18 January in Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Zhengzhou and Fly skateshop and across the rest of China from 21 January.
