It seems that if you want to find out information about The Stone Roses' latest plans, you're best off just bumping into them in the street.
After Ian Brown was stopped outside Church Studios in Crouch End in March and told a reporter that new music, that was sounding 'glorious' was coming 'soon', a fan may have unexpectedly received an update from bass player Mani.
Roses fan Lewis Jones met Mani in the street and, while posing for a selfie, also said that a brand new single would be hitting the airwaves this coming week.
Of course, we all got excited at the end of last year when a mysterious poster campaign seemed to suggest that a new album would be on the way, but all that was announced were some new summer 2016 dates.
We even featured them in our 'albums you need to hear in 2016' list, more in hope than expectation, but perhaps this time it could actually happen? If it does, it would be the band's first new material since 1994's Second Coming and the first new track since their unlikely 2012 reunion.
Here's hoping. And here's hoping it's brilliant. In fact, we're...
...to make it brilliant.
