A new scent from Tom Ford kicks off our autumn fragrance round-up
Nobody does evening glamour like Tom Ford. And his particular love for Seventies glamour is reflected in his new Private Blend fragrance, Patchouli Absolu. The distinctive ingredient of patchouli – celebrated in Seventies perfumery – is suggestive of nightcrawling bohemians and, OK, the odd goth. Ford’s Patchouli Absolu embodies three facets of the ingredient – an oil form that gives a raw and primal texture, then the patchouli heart, the absolute, earthy extract of the plant, and finally there’s clearwood, a purer form of patchouli that diffuses through for a long-lasting effect.
With longer evenings looming ahead, it’s part of a new trend for immersing yourself in a cloud of heavy decadence.
