Anyone who came here for a story on glow in the dark pastry might want to try reading that headline again.
First released in 1985, le coq sportif has redesigned its hugely successful Éclat running shoe with an after-dark theme. Childish as that might sound, it's a much better looking shoe than the brief suggests.
A slick, black suede trainer by day, with a speckled grey sole unit, the new Éclat takes on an entirely different look as soon as things turn dark (which, currently, is anything later than 4:18pm). The free-form sole, heel stripe and heel tab have all been kitted out in a vibrant reflective finish, emitting a basking green glow under low lighting.
Admit it - they're the training shoes you always wanted when you were 12.
The new Éclat will be available from Urban Outfitters, size? and Sneakerstuff from 5 February for £75.
