What do you get when you mix a Scottish fashion retailer with a French label rich in tennis heritage? Anyone with the answer 'the smartest tennis shoe of the year' receives full marks.
Spawned from a blessed union of Hanon and Lacoste, this reworking of the French sports group's Wytham tennis shoe is one of our favourite releases of the summer.
The 'On Court' model sticks to Lacoste's classic white and green colours, with a hint of red peeking through from the padded lining. We're not sure who would dare put the plush tumbled leather and chalk suede through a series of sets, but they certainly look the part.
While the 'On Court' edition goes on sale on 3 May (price yet to be announced), the altogether more understated 'Off Court' version in a lovely soft tobacco and red will be limited to an in-store run of just 50 items. Which suddenly means they're your preferred colourway, doesn't it? You'll have to get yourself up to Aberdeen if fancy a pair.
