It's almost time for Wimbledon and other than shouting at the TV, drinking Pimm's and walking around with an unused tennis racket, we have a much better way to show your appreciation of the game.
This summer, Lacoste are launching the 'Tribute' collection which has been created to pay homage to René Lacoste and his sporting achievements. The influential player was the tennis champion of the 20s, winning titles at Wimbledon, The US Championships and The French Open.
The shoes have all been influenced by the court surfaces of the era - red clay and green grass - and also have a slight 70s feel, mainly because the 70s were cool and stuff.
There's also a rather clever addition on each pair as they all feature seven stars on the tongue tab as a reference to René's grand slam victories. Inside the tab, the specific year is embroidered.
There are six styles so far and we've been promised more for autumn/winter, because tennis is for life, not just for summer.

At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
