Johnnie Walker And Oliver Sweeney’s Whisky-Filled Brogues

Johnnie Walker And Oliver Sweeney’s Whisky-Filled Brogues

Johnnie Walker And Oliver Sweeney’s Whisky-Filled Brogues
11 December 2014
With the holidays drawing ever nearer, you can be sure most discerning gentleman would be chuffed to bits at the thought unwrapping a nice bottle of whisky or shiny pair of brogues come Christmas Day.

So how about both? And by 'both' we mean having the sweet, sweet liquor located in the actual shoe itself, reminding us how James Bond would fill his own loafers on a day off - because it's now a reality.

Taking its brand name rather literally, Johnnie Walker Red Label has partnered with Oliver Sweeney to fashion some seriously limited-edition Oxford-style brogues, all encasing a miniature bottle of the drink inside the specially crafted and sizeably Tom Cruise-friendly heels.

Flourished with Johnnie Walker’s ‘striding man’, each of the 130 pairs took two days to make and were forged from only the finest calf leather, with the tanned leather resembling the colour of whisky, while stitching and the inner sole going for red hues - obviously.

And as you’d expect from any footwear from Oliver Sweeney, the style of the shoe itself – packed with classic punching and wingtip detail - is superb. They also come with a Ginger Ale and a recipe card are included in the shoe box, enabling you to enjoy the brand’s Johnnie & Ginger, part of the brand’s new Bold Collection drink fusing series.

At £279.00 per pair, hopefully you’ve time to tell a friend to pick you some up from an Oliver Sweeney store or online. After all, you just can't take the risk of getting socks again.
