We all know that Lionel Messi is pretty good. But, like an enthusiastic puppy, he just keeps on shoving it in our faces. Okay Lionel, we get it!
The Argentinian genius scored yet another wondergoal for Barcelona on Saturday night, notching the first goal in a 3-1 win against Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final, as the Catalan side completed a domestic double - which could yet become a treble when they take on Juventus in the Champions League final next Saturday.
Receiving the ball by the touchline just inside the opposition half, there seemed little danger, with Messi having a standing start and plenty of defenders in attendance. Naturally, though, this was not remotely a problem for Leo, as he went on an incredible mazy run, beating five players (including the same unfortunate midfielder twice) before slotting home. Right now, Ronaldo is at home sticking pins into his Messi doll.
It was a good day for spectacular strikes: earlier on, Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez had beaten Aston Villa's Shay Given with an absolute howitzer of a strike to put the Gunners two-up against Aston Villa and kill the tie, which finished 4-0. Take a look below - the look on Given's face is a picture; a thin smile of rueful acceptance.
So, is the strike Messi's best-ever? Take a look at the first 401 goals of his ridiculous career below and decide for yourselves.
