If you’ve ever owned a Lacoste polo shirt, the chances are it was the timeless L. 12. 12 design.
Created in 1933 (by no less than René Lacoste himself) they’re still produced today. And in recognition of its iconic nature, the brand has collaborated with 12 designers to create a new line called Lacoste Legends — The Power Of 12.
But any thoughts you had that these would be polo shirts can be dispelled now (if the picture and headline haven’t already given the game away). The collection actually consists of 12 unique pairs of trainers, with the shirts referenced by the mother of pearl button on the petit piqué tongue.
The impressive names on the design roster include underground record label Stones Throw, secret Boston trainer store Bodega and Parisian boutique Colette.
The full range of trainers will be released in selected stores, not at all coincidentally, on 12 December (12/12), priced from £60-£110 at www.24teeth.com.
