We're getting deep, peaty scents - tones of suede and tartan. Hints of running-shoe-blended-single malt. No, we've not been hitting the whisky early - Hanon is serving up a dram of something a bit special with a very special Supra OWEN trainer.
In a trainer collaboration with a difference, the Hanon has joined forces with SUPRA to release a running shoe that draws on the brand's Scottish (read 'whisky') heritage.
The results are quite something. The OWEN trainer has been kitted out in an upper of dual tones: a fine smooth pig suede overlaid by a rugged finish suede, coloured in a striking 'whisky gold' finish. A fully perforated tongue sports a golden Hanon logo, echoed by the gold leaf dual branding on the shoe's heels. The attention to detail flows over into the shoe's lining, footbed and tongue backer, all finished in a unique purple tartan pattern.
This very special pair of trainers will go on sale at Hanon's Aberdeen store on 26 July at 10am. Those of you unable to make the trip will have to wait until 2pm before the shoes hit the online store.
