Judging by the new trailer for San Andreas, we’re about to see the 50 Shades of disaster porn.
When a series of major earthquakes start to tear the state of California in two, its panicking inhabitants are soon stuck between The Rock and a hard place. That's right, Dwayne Johnson’s rescue helicopter pilot comes to save the day in spectacular fashion, flying in to pick one woman up from a falling skyscraper. No mean feat.
But then the man’s got his own issues, and it isn't long before he’s out of the chopper and fleeing to LA with his ex-wife in order to find their estranged daughter in San Francisco.
And the token scientist? He's played by Paul Giamatti, sure to lend some gravitas to CGI-cluttered proceedings as he tries to explain why the ensuing chaos is happening and - if you'll forgive the pun - who's really at fault.
Take a look at the trailer below, which isn't messing about.
